I have uploaded it to the Cooker now: cups-1.2.0-0.5431.1mdk

It is really easy now, a few clicks and our good old LaserJet 4050 was
set up. PPD selected automatically, option page with "Installable
Options" in the beginning showed automatically, A4 as default paper size
set automatically.

Now I can only recommend to every distro to not disable the web
interface and then they do not need to hassle with writing their own
printer setup tool.

If you consider the web interface not secure enough, do not remove or
disable it, add "Encryption Required" to the /admin and /admin/conf
locations in /etc/cups/cupsd.conf and the user is automatically lead
into https mode before he enters the root password of his print server.

I will implement auto PPD generation for Foomatic this week, so that the
web interface lists all Foomatic PPDs when simply CUPS 1.2,
foomatic-db-engine and foomatic-db is installed. Then everything should
be perfect.
