An interesting standard shows a possibility for customizing GUI using XML,

http://www.uiml.org/
http://xml.coverpages.org/uiml.html
http://www8.org/w8-papers/5b-hypertext-media/uiml/uiml.html

In case the computer is connected to the internet, the user may download
the UI components that is written in XML, from the printer driver support URL,
to change the printer diver GUI.
Unfortunately, there is no common method to update the UI on the specific
operating system, and now the printer driver is not flexible to change the GUI.
But in future the configurable GUI will provide the best fitting GUI for both
novice users and professional users.
