   So does Ghostscript, sort of. Kai-Uwe discovered some flatness
   issues this summer. But in any case we are interested in supporting
   this and would love to have 16 bit drivers to talk to.

Gutenprint 5.0 (currently -rc1, soon to be -rc2) is fully 16-bit
capable.
