You make a sound argument for NEP targets, but we would all benefit from
making openais as useful to as large a base of users as possible (which
also means the general enterprise).  Some of these people may have disks
and dislike syslog for some reason (doesn't it drop messages in
overload?) or doing development on their development machine and want
stderr/file logging.
