[Ksummit-2012-discuss] [ATTEND] Module signing, cpu hotplug and some cpumasks.

Hi all,

I'd really like to try to get some consensus on module signing,
since there's the "in the .ko" vs "in an xattr" fight. I don't really
care, but it'd be nice to get the players in one place with a deadline,
such as David Howells, Dmitry Kasatkin, Lucas De Marchi an Jon Masters.
If we all get there, other module stuff will no doubt come up.

CPU hotplug is something ARM is using for powersaving, for better or
worse. So much for my jokes about waiting for a cpu hotplug rate
benchmark before any optimization occurred; we're there. Thomas
Gleixner's got some great patches, but we're due for a complete rewrite
IMHO. It's developed into a real mess, and the -rt guys hate
stop_machine.

Finally, it'd be nice to get consensus on what to do with offstack
cpumasks. There are a few final patches sitting in limbo before we can
actually change cpumask_var_t to only allocate nr_cpus bits. Would be
nice to kick them along.

Cheers,
Rusty.
