I don't know what to do with this. How do I know which changesets are
specific to this tree? Is there no way to navigate the tree as with
gitweb? If I could check the history of all the zoran driver files, I
may find what Hans did to them (if he did anything.) Otherwise I guess
I'm better just asking Hans himself next time I have the opportunity.

OK. Is it possible to convert the encoder and decoder drivers
individually, or do we have to convert all the drivers at once? I may
try to convert the saa7110 driver if this can be done independently
from the other drivers.

Ah, yeah, now I remember. But this was a long time ago and the zoran
drivers have changed a lot since then.
